didn't really catch it all, but something about a Duke assistant coach(idk of what) or someone from Duke got caught trying to sell his 5 year old in a sex-ring? Was on Channel 5 in the "At the top of the Hour" bit, thought I heard it say something like that. Sounds weird as hell and I can't find a story on it yet, hoping I was just hearing crazy stuff but could have swore it was something of that sort.

Here it is, it was an official at the university,not a coach - my bad on that one and for posting it in the sports section.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Authorities have arrested and charged a Duke University official who they say offered his adopted 5-year-old son for sex.

The FBI's Washington field office said the school's associate director of the Center for Health Policy, Frank Lombard, was caught in an Internet sting. Authorities said that Lombard tried to persuade a person — whom he did not know was a police officer — to travel to North Carolina to have sex with Lombard's child.

Court documents charge that Lombard identified himself online as "perv dad for fun."

The papers also say an unnamed informant, facing charges in his own child sex case, tipped off authorities to Lombard's activities.

Absolutely he should, sick as it gets. Dude appeared that he was was an established, normal guy and turns out to be a monster.

Another article on it that has some more info. He adopted the kid to molest him and had been for awhile, found webcams and sex toys in his home. No telling how long this poor kid has been abused, sick POS.

And let's be clear for anyone just now reading the thread--this guy has NOTHING to do with the athletic department. The only people this action should reflect on is this guy, and this guy alone.
He's a sick individual and needs to pay a HUGE price for doing this with an adopted kid. Sad thing is, there's probably more of this that goes on in the world than what we know. It's a despicable act whether it's a Duke official, UNC, Miami, VT, etc...what school this guy worked for really doesn't matter. It's flat disgusting.

Funny how your stance changed from Michael Jackson to this guy. Courts say innocent until proven guilty.

BUT, i agree, this guy should get the death penalty. Freakin sicko.

Thanks for for deciphering this situation. Some of us not so smart poster's may have been lost with out the dictation. Touche on the disgusting. I would have hated to had to figure that out on my own. My thoughts exactly, I guess.

No need to be condescending. Some people who just glanced at things on this thread (Burton13 with the news of this when it first broke, for instance), could have thought this was a Duke coach/athlete or something having to do with the athletic dept and started up the whole deal about the lacrosse scandal and this just being another black eye...when that's not the case at all.

Nowhere in my post did I call people "not-so-smart".
